While staying with his aunt at Kent Fitzwilliam Darcy encounters Elizabeth Bennet again and he is now more sure than ever that she is the lady of his heart. But then he overhears a conversation between her and her friend Charlotte, stating that she could never love or marry him.
Soon the spring flooding lets them both head home, only to throw them together in a crowded inn. They have no other option than to travel together, later they even need to abandon their coach and travel in a mule cart. They see each other without any pretense before they reach London, yet Elizabeth is still not ready to hear his addresses.
Will Elizabeth ever be able to regard Darcy with the same affection as he does regard her? Will spending the London season with his sister and a journey through the northern counties bring Darcy nearer to himself and also to his goal of marrying Elizabeth? Or will he never deem himself worthy of her?
If you would like to know if a walk through the northern counties will bring Darcy finally to Elizabeth, you should definitely read this excellent book.
